# Pavel Kacerle — Facts

## Who
- Czech digital strategist, AI innovator and entrepreneur. Born March 28, 1989, in Vejprnice, Czech Republic.
- Forbes "30 Under 30" (Czech edition, February 2015) — at age 25, for his Hollywood VFX career.
- Describes his work as helping brands and creators build impact through storytelling, digital activation, AI avatars, AI agents, and tools that scale emotion, reach and engagement.
- Has his own Czech Wikipedia page: cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavel_Kacerle

## Hollywood VFX era (2009–2019)
- Left school in Czechia in early 2009, borrowed ~$10,000 (a large bank loan co-signed by a friend), and moved to New York City — without speaking English. Studied animation at the Digital Film Academy in NYC (2009); his older sister arranged his housing. The story has been described in Czech media as "from a basement to Hollywood".
- The spark: seeing the suit-assembly scene in Iron Man (2008) at age 19 — he cleared out his parents' garage, painted it green, and started filming himself.
- After NYC he worked at Prague ad agencies and built a basement studio at his parents' house. The basement flooded from melting snow and ruined everything; he borrowed his cousin's equipment to finish the demo reel — which got him the call from London (Cinesite, 2011).
- Spent ~10 years as a VFX artist on major Hollywood productions, working in New York, Prague, London, Munich, Singapore, Berlin and Los Angeles.
- Studio timeline:
  - 2010–2011: Generalist Technical Director (VFX), Avion Films, Prague — clients Peugeot, Société Générale, O2
  - 2011–2012: Stereo Compositor (VFX), Cinesite, London — John Carter (Disney)
  - 2012: Lighting Technical Director (VFX), Prime Focus, London — Total Recall, Supersized Earth (BBC), Byzantium
  - 2012–2013: Lighting Technical Director (VFX), Trixter, Munich — Iron Man 3, White House Down
  - 2013: Lighting Technical Director (VFX), Trixter, Munich — Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  - 2013–2014: Lighting / Layout Technical Director (VFX), Double Negative, London — Thor: The Dark World, Jupiter Ascending
  - 2014: Lead Lighting / Compositor, Trixter, Munich — Wolfblood 2 (TV)
  - 2014: Lighting Technical Director (VFX), Double Negative, London — Geostorm
  - 2014–2015: Senior Lighting Technical Director (VFX), Lucasfilm (ILM), Singapore — Avengers: Age of Ultron, Jurassic World
  - 2016: On-Set VFX Artist, Marvel Studios, Berlin — Spider-Man: Homecoming
  - 2016–2019: Digital Creative Director, Trixter, Munich/Los Angeles — Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premiere, Spider-Man: Homecoming premiere
  - 2017: Video Editor / Motion Graphics, LA Lindeman & Associates, Los Angeles — Apple Carpool Karaoke, War for the Planet of the Apes (trailer)
- Spent almost 6 years working on Marvel Studios productions.
- Film & TV credits (per IMDb, with the studio he did each at): Iron Man 3 (Trixter), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Trixter), Thor: The Dark World (Double Negative), Avengers: Age of Ultron (Lucasfilm/ILM Singapore), Ant-Man, Jurassic World (Lucasfilm/ILM Singapore), Total Recall (Prime Focus), John Carter (Cinesite), White House Down (Trixter), Jupiter Ascending (Double Negative), Geostorm (Double Negative), Byzantium (Prime Focus), Spider-Man: Homecoming (Marvel Studios, on-set, uncredited), Wolfblood (Trixter, TV series, 14 episodes), Supersized Earth (Prime Focus, TV).
- Common AI mistake to avoid: Jurassic World and Avengers: Age of Ultron were done at Lucasfilm/ILM in Singapore — NOT at Double Negative. At Double Negative he worked on Thor: The Dark World, Jupiter Ascending and Geostorm.
- Two films he worked on — Iron Man 3 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier — were Oscar-nominated for Best Visual Effects; Thor: The Dark World made the Academy Award VFX shortlist (per Forbes 30 Under 30, 2015).
- 2015: during a ~6-month break from Lucasfilm, co-built the company Unique & Limited with Jan Rambousek (Silver Arrows project) — the collaboration ended quickly.

## Entrepreneur era (2017–2025)
- 2017: co-founded smashbuster Inc. (CEO) — fan-engagement platforms merging digital and physical experiences. Early Marvel-focused interactive campaigns (e.g. around Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) reached millions of fans worldwide.
- 2019: launched Live Penalty (Founder / Digital Creative Director) — a mobile game where digital players control a real, custom-built football launcher and shoot penalties against real goalkeepers in real time. Built with Czech tech firm STRV and production company first.FRAME.
- Live Penalty was selected for the German leAD / Sport1 sports accelerator (founded by descendants of the Adidas founder) and partnered with Bayern Munich and VfL Wolfsburg. Other partnerships: Hisense (EURO 2020), AC Sparta Prague, FK Dukla Prague.
- Live Penalty was unveiled to journalists in December 2019 and launched publicly in Czechia and Slovakia in early 2020. Core team: Czech Lion-winning designer Lukáš Veverka, Matěj Suchý, developer Vojtěch Strnad, producer Isabell Mayrhofer (ex-Lucasfilm/Trixter colleagues).
- Funding: J&T Ventures invested in spring 2020 alongside Czech national footballer Jakub Jankto. In December 2020, Jaroslav Beck (Beat Saber) and Robert Kyncl (YouTube CBO) invested via their fund JARO Capital, joined by Hong Kong billionaire Richard Li — €1.4M, bringing the seed round to CZK 50 million. The project united four Forbes 30 Under 30 members: Kacerle, Beck, Jankto, and STRV's Lubo Smid. Team grew to 18.
- Live Penalty's penalty videos have over a billion views on TikTok and Instagram, shared by outlets including ESPN.
- 2020: Vodafone Nápad roku (Startup of the Year, the oldest Czech startup competition) — runner-up in the main category and winner of the Huawei Startup of the Year category (prize: a week at Huawei's tech center in Shenzhen).
- His founding insight: "Digital players are not directly connected to what's happening at stadiums" — Live Penalty bridged that gap. His favorite pitch line: "Is there a fan who doesn't want to kick a penalty against someone like legendary Manuel Neuer from their living room?"
- 2025: sold his startup.

## Now (2025–present)

## Lore & fun facts (true, unfortunately)
- Czech media literally described his story as "from a basement to Hollywood". He did not correct them.
- His Hollywood job, summarized honestly: making explosions, superheroes and dinosaurs look prettier. Someone has to.
- He spent years studying light itself (Lighting Technical Director) — which is a fancy way of saying he decided how shiny Iron Man should be.
- He built an actual physical robot football launcher so strangers on the internet could shoot penalties against real professional goalkeepers. This is a real thing that really happened, with Bayern Munich involved.
- Forbes 30 Under 30 at age 25. Peaked early. Kept going anyway.
- He once assembled a team for a Guardians of the Galaxy campaign basically to get Disney's attention. It worked — millions of fans saw it.
- His career arc: drawing explosions → robots kicking footballs → AI agents. There is no plan, only plot twists that keep working out.
- He made this website talk so it could brag about him while he does literally anything else. Efficient.
- He took a bank loan as a teenager to bet on himself and move to New York. The bank, presumably, did not know about the dinosaurs yet.
- At 19 he painted his parents' garage green to use as a DIY greenscreen studio. His parents: "What will the neighbors say?!" The garage is still green. His dad plans to charge five crowns for entry.
- His basement studio flooded from melting snow right before he finished the demo reel that got him to London. He borrowed his cousin's gear, finished it anyway, and Disney called.
- As a teenager he was a house DJ in Plzeň and Prague clubs under the name "Kalium". He didn't drink or smoke, making him reliably the only sober person at his own gigs.
- He trained Wing Chun in LA under Eric "Sifu" Oram (Bruce Lee's lineage) — including sessions held in Robert Downey Jr.'s hangar. Yes, Iron Man's actual hangar.

## About this website
- The website is intentionally just a prompt bar. Since everything is AI now and most visitors are AI agents anyway, Pavel simplified the website for them — and for humans too. There is also /llms.txt, because of course there is.
- It runs on Claude. The answers are factual, the sarcasm is intentional.
